In the world of highly awareness about the importance of children’s personal development and mental health care. SPEECH was born not only as a new effort but also with a profound mission. At SPEECH, we DO NOT aim to intervene in children’s lives just to meet the “PERFECT ACHIEVEMENTS” to satisfy the demands of parents, teachers or the educational system. We see ourselves as a destination to support and nurture children’s natural interest development hence soothe and restore mental, physical, emotional and psychological health that the children have suffered under the modern society pressure.
Understand the situation and make objective judgements
In modern society, paying attention to the current situation of families and its impact on children’s language development is extremely important. Some of the factors leading to speech delay in children today require a deeper listening and understanding of the family environment and the challenges which families are facing.
First, let’s have a look at the broader picture of today’s living society. Globalization and Economic surging bring conveniences and opportunities to humanity. However, these also pose pressures and challenges for households and families. Being busier with work to catch up with growth of the economy, along with the spread of fast technological communication has caused the family time quality to decrease dramatically i.e the rhythm of family activities is distorted among members. This could lead to fewer language exposure opportunities for children in the place they called home.
Second, one of the crucial factors is the role of technology in ones’ daily lives. Children today are often exposed to electronic devices from a very early age, excessively and uncontrollably usage without adult guidance could affect children’s language development. Instead of iterating and communicating face-to face with loved ones, children can easily fall into the habit of using smartphones, television channels which only communicate one way, hence reducing their speaking skills.
In addition, another factor that plays a very crucial impact is “Urbanization”. Deforestation and green areas for children are taken away, leading to the lack of safe and natural playgrounds for children to explore. Therefore, family members ranging from grandparents to parents would be worried and overprotect their children to avoid physical dangers, weather conditions (heat stroke/ acid raining), then the outdoor sensory activities are limited and self-protection skills are not developed. This overprotection would cause the reduction in children’s independence and confidence in communication and expressing self opinions.
Lack of playing and interacting skills of parents is one of the deadliest factors. Parents may not have enough of the knowledge and skills necessary to create enjoyable and stimulating language-rich games, activities for their children in order to engage in their language development.
Finally, The role of the social and cultural environment cannot be ignored. Society standardization such as “Academic Achievement”, “Best Kids Of The School” definitely create anxiety and stress for parents, affecting the way they see, interact and demand their children. Impatience and forcing their kids to achieve those society standards can prohibit children’s mental health to grow.

At SPEECH, we not only acknowledge the challenges we face but are committed to sharing the burden, creating an environment like a second home where every single child is loved, cared and respected. We open “doors” for each child, creating the environment where children can be themselves
When interacting with the children we create activities to PLAY because children PLAY TO LEARN. The word “PLAY” for adults is the concept of ENTERTAINMENT. A special feature of SPEECH is the inner care of the children. Not only as educators, but also as companions, friends, putting ourselves in ones’ shoes to be ready to listen by heart to understand each child. Here, there is no judgment, pressure and comparison, only love and sharing from the heart.
We also nurture confidence and independence. Here each child is encouraged to pick the toys they love to play with, the colors they choose to draw, the objects they decide to paint on (like the walls, the balls) so that they are encouraged to express their opinions naturally and confidently.
HOW SPEECH WORKS
We promote the importance of understanding each individual and family context. That is why we spend a lot of time interviewing, asking questions to parents/caregivers to gain deeper understanding of the child’s family context, spend hours and weeks observing the child and creating a path based on love and understanding.
We are never hasty in concluding or judging your baby’s condition, because we understand that each person is unique and it takes time and patience to understand each case.
Each interactive session is an opportunity for us not only to work with the child but also provide guidance and support to parents and caregivers. We always emphasize their role in children’s development and are always willing to share the crucial knowledge and studies so the parents can accompany us in educating and caring for children. Because we know they are the people who have the most impact on children’s lifelong development.
At SPEECH, we are not only the center that cares for children with language, psychological and behavioral difficulties, but step on the same path on the child’s journey to find INNER PEACE. With “Healing Education Environment”, we are committed to keeping parents and children’s personal information confidential. This will always be a place where children can thrive, comprehensive and confident and not limited by any standards.
